The back is problematic here, because the chance of defending yourself is 0.1%. That's why you shouldn't turn your back on the creature and always keep an eye on it if you want to run away.

For there to be betrayal, there has to be a relationship that is based on at least trust. When you don't promise anyone anything or are obligated to anyone. At least that's how I would see it.
