nice message :)

yeah, great message, i'm really happy to read it, i'm really proud of you, hails from brazil. Also, everybody believes in the illuminati, they just call them by different names (the communists for example call them "burgeoise", "burgeoise it, burgeoise that")

Im in the illuminati hehe 🔺🔺🔺🔺🔺🔺🔺🔺🔺🔺🔺

I have worked with producers and clients in the past who get almost zero views the few times they post and have almost no social media presence--yet they have the jobs I wish I had working on some of the best Adult Swim shows. Similarly, I've followed animators that used to be super active on social media, but then they get picked up to work on more professional stuff like Smiling Friends or Monkey Wrench and let their social media shrivel up in favor of jobs that actually pay and let them do what they love for a living. Social media is a pretty decent tool to meet other artists, but it is somewhat overrated for anything other than posting your art to people who wouldn't be able to see it otherwise, and nobody wants to find out their favorite artist or animator has extremist opinions on current events or gender roles or whatever.

You can rest assured with me, at least, that I quit Twitter around 2021, and although I'm tempted from time to time, I have no real desire to join Twitter-likes like BlueSky or Mastodon, since quite frankly "old" Twitter before Elon Musk wasn't THAT much healthier for my brain, either. I have my YouTube set so that it gives me no frontpage recommendations at all, which is good because YouTube for the past few years seems intent on shoving politics and tragedies all around the world on their Front Page for some reason.

Finally, I could use the reminder from time to time not to post "hopeless" content, even when I'm just trying to be funny in a "gallows humor" kind of way. It is way too easy to just mock what's wrong with the world without offering solutions or hope, anyway, a really good writer avoids such low-hanging fruit in favor of stuff that is more creative and maybe even inspiring. I remember my biggest pet peeve with comedians during the Pandemic Lockdowns was that their humor was exclusively just mocking how terrible it is to be stuck inside all day, masks, Karens, all this stuff I was forced to see 24/7 anyway and didn't need to be constantly reminded of from what was supposed to be escapist entertainment.

you know whats better comedy? zabujard

:)

i understand ur point. i dont want everyone to share just hopeful shit. i just want to help people without the compassion fatigue. also, you dont need to join bluesky.

This is a very sweet post, I’ve seen people going through it these last few years and want to help out when I can without having Compassion Fatigue myself. A Big Goal with my Artistic Endeavors is to help people out. And there’s plenty of ways to do that: Talking to them about troubles you have experience in, giving advice on various things, even just goofing around and putting a little Fun in someone’s Life. It’s times like these where sentiments like you’ve shared here are vital. It’s important not to bury your head in the sand or force positivity onto people, especially if they’re struggling. But even a momentary smile makes a day a little better for someone. And you have to always remember that we’re in a time where there’s so many opportunities to lend a hand and find some enjoyment for a while, indirectly or not. That’s one of the best parts of being an Artist. You can help give someone who does more Important/Productive Work motivation and enjoyment, which can ripple across communities with people either inspiring and/or giving respite to others. Which can become a Positive Feedback Loop that can spread far. All that while pursuing a Fulfillment for yourself as well. And will things are Rough at times, we’re closer than we realize to a sustainable unity. The last few decades have just been about cleaning up Centuries worth of messes while still seeking out Good Times/Relief. It’s Rough as Hell at times but if the current generations play our cards right Humanity will be more Cooperative and Innovative than ever.

Thanks for writing this ^^

i can totally agree with you. i believe that all of us can inspired and motivate people indirectly. plus, i believe that if we work together we could make this world a bit better.

this was a VERY needed post for me. Thanks for writing this!

thx

i believe if we stand our ground, celebrate the old web and it’s inspiration, try to see the silver linings, avoid stuff that unnessecarily gives us stress and makes us rage, and find a small community of kind individuals, there will be more joy.

Man fuck AI I get sick of hearing about it everyday, your message means a lot, I’m not an artist but I do respect real artists and their work, I also don’t see what it wrong with regular people doing jobs and other stuff in this world. Have a nice day
